CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 2024 POWER TRAIN

Transmission Control Valve failed causing my vehicle to drop from 70 miles per hour below 40 miles per hour rapidly on the highway/interstate which could have caused a fatal crash. Called OnStar and was told my code showing was P0747 meaning service now. I called dealerships to get an appt next morning and this happened in the evening and was told the soonest I could get in was a week away, most was longer than that. I did worked in and was told my TCV needed to be replaced. I was told this is a common problem with this truck but when I contacted GM they told me they could only do a 30% courtesy discount because my 2400 Chevy Silverado 2500HD already had 83,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. I have researched this and NHTSA already has a bulletin in place for this same issue but it didn’t include my VIN so they told me there was nothing more than can be done. This is a huge safety risk and concern. My daughter and wife could have been driving my truck and it could have caused a very bad wreck. My vehicle had no prior warning until this happened. My vehicle did say reduced engine performance and my check engine light came on during the event but nothing prior. Now my truck shifts hard and gets hot fast. We opted not to drive and took it to a local dealership for repair due to the risk of injury if we continued to drive it to us and others. We are not put out a vehicle and monthly payment as the part is on back order. GM pretty much is brushing us off and told us we can file a complaint with NHTSA if we feel like it’s something more that needs done. Bulletin number in place for this issue on other VINS is N242454441. I don’t want this to happen to others so I wanted to report it plus I feel like GM should have cover total cost especially with it being a known issue. Thanks

No warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlight control module needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they referred him to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 61,000.

CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

In May 2026, my vehicle began exhibiting serious and dangerous problems. It would shake violently after starting and occasionally stop on its own while driving. On [XXX], my wife and I got into the vehicle and started driving from our home in West Virginia. While driving uphill at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly began shaking severely and then came to a complete stop. After a few moments, it restarted itself and accelerated to about 30–40 mph while continuing to shake violently. This happened several times during the trip. Fuel consumption also became extremely abnormal, dropping to approximately 6 miles per gallon. Because Team One Chevrolet in Oakland, Maryland, is the nearest dealer, we drove there for service. After several hours, the dealer returned the vehicle and informed us that they had replaced a sensor. However, after leaving the dealership, the Check Engine light came on again after only three engine starts. I immediately returned to the dealership, where the warning light was cleared. The following day, the Check Engine light returned. When I contacted the dealership, I was told to continue driving the vehicle with the warning light on for one to two weeks. After more than a week, I returned to the dealership, and the light was reset again. A few days later, the same problem reappeared. At that point, I was informed that, according to dealership procedures, replacement parts could not be ordered until the issue had been reported three times. After the third visit, the parts were finally ordered, and I was required to wait several more weeks for another service appointment. I also reported the issue directly to Chevrolet. Despite multiple visits, repeated failures, and a significant amount of time spent attempting repairs, my vehicle remains unrepaired. My factory warranty is approaching expiration, and no one has provided a clear answer regarding what will happen if the upcoming repair attempt fails to resolve the problem. While driving the vehicle, the vehicle jolted and made a clunk noise. The check engine light came on accompanied by a message on the Dash stating "Reduce acceleration, Drive with Care". The vehicle went into "limp mode", and appeared to be engaged in a single gear. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 30 mph when the transmission malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to my local Chevy dealer, where they scanned the vehicle and determined that the Valve Body was the issue, based on the scan result. The vehicle is a 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Gas). It has 29k miles on it. The vehicle was purchased as a "certified Pre-owned" (lease return). Within 20 miles of being driven from the dealer after purchase, I experienced a jolt & clunk. The failure occured 42 miles later.
